A Step-By-Step Process on How to Install Pfister Kitchen Faucets 

Installing a Pfister kitchen faucet is a straightforward process. Make sure you have all the tools needed to start the process. By following these simple steps, you can complete the process of installing a Pfister kitchen faucet:

Step 1: Prepare the Work Area

Take your new Pfister faucet out of the box. When you open it from the box, you will have the following items,

• A preassembled faucet with integrated supply lines
• A putty plate
• A deck plate
• A single post putty ring
• A horseshoe metal washer
• A mounting nut 
• A pullout hose weight
• A silk dispenser
• A bottle with straw
• Pfister quick install tool

To work comfortably, you will need adequate space. As a result, start by clearing the area under the sink. Gathering all the necessary tools and equipment is the next important thing to do. I also recommend wearing safety goggles to protect your eyes.

Moreover, you need to remove the fast connector. Just unscrew it with your hand so that all the hoses can fit through the sinkholes later. 

Step 2: Disconnect the Water Supply Lines   

Locate the hot and cold water supply valves. When you find the valves, turn them clockwise to shut off the water supply. You can also turn on the faucet to confirm that the water is fully shut off. 

Once the water supply is off, carefully loosen the nuts connecting the hot and cold supply tubes. It is better to place a bucket or towel beneath the connections to catch any remaining water in the lines.

Step 3: Remove the Old Faucet

After disconnecting the water supply lines, you can start removing the old faucet. To do that, locate the mounting nuts securing the old faucet to the sink, then loosen them. When all the

Step 4: Clean the Sink Surface

You may be desperate to install the new faucet by now. However, before that, clean the sink surface thoroughly to ensure a clean and secure installation. Your cleaning should include removing any debris or old putty from the previous faucet.  

Step 5: Apply Plumber’s Tape

Keep the plumber’s tape close. You need to use it to create a watertight seal when connecting the new faucet. Therefore, wrap the tape clockwise around the threaded connections of the supply tubes. 

Step 6: Place the New Faucet

Locate the mounting holes on the sink. Next, carefully place the new Pfister kitchen faucet, aligning it with the mounting holes. Additionally, you need to make sure the faucet is placed in the center. You should use the deck plate for accurate mounting.

While placing the faucet in the holes, insert it through the single post putty ring. Apply putty to the bottom of the ring. Once in position, secure the faucet by tightening the mounting nuts underneath the sink. I suggest using an adjustable wrench (possibly a 3/32″ hex wrench).  

Step 7: Attach the Fast Connect Diverter

Next, through the hose protector, onto the mounting shank. Then, slide it on the pullout hose weight. Then, connect the fast-connect diverter to the host by turning it right.

After that, attach the fast connect diverter to the inlet line by pushing up until you feel a hard stop. If the diverter doesn’t fall off the inlet line by pulling it down, then your connection is secure. In addition, ensure that water flows freely from the faucet.

Step 8: Connect the Water Supply Lines

Secure the faucet under the sink using the Pfister quick install tool or a screwdriver. After installing the new Pfister kitchen faucet, you have to connect the supply lines. Attach the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding supply tubes of the new faucet. 

Tighten the nuts securely using an adjustable wrench. Be careful not to overtighten, as it may damage the connections. Remove the nut from the silk dispenser and turn it upside down. Afterward, insert the shank through the gasket and then through the sinkhole. Secure the shank by using the threaded nut under the sink.  

Step 9: Test Your New Pfister Faucet

After installing the new Pfister faucet and connecting the water supply lines, you need to test the faucet. Turn on the faucet and check that both cold and hot water are coming out smoothly. If you find any leaks, try tightening the connections further.
